Michael-Anne Gomez Howard County, MD
Michael-Anne (Mickey) Gomez
is the Executive Director of the Volunteer Center Serving Howard County, a
clearinghouse for volunteerism that connects community members with local
non-profit and governmental agencies. She completed two terms as President of
Maryland Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster and is currently a member of
the Executive Board. She serves on the National Voluntary Organizations Active
in Disaster (NVOAD) Volunteer Management Committee and the Points of Light
Foundation’s Volunteer Center Disaster Advisory Group. She has presented on the
topic of disaster volunteerism at the National VOAD Annual Conference, the
National Hurricane Conference, the Humane Society of the United States National
Conference on Animals in Disaster and the Maryland Inclusive Preparedness
Conference. Mickey’s previous experience in volunteer management includes five
years as the Director of the University of Miami’s Butler Volunteer Services
Center.
