Marko Bourne

Marko Bourne
was appointed Director of Policy and Program Analysis for the
Federal Emergency Management Agency in October 2006.
He has more
than 20 years experience in governmental and legislative affairs,
public affairs, marketing and the emergency services and emergency
management fields.
From
2004-2006, he was Director of Business Development for Homeland
Security at Earth Tech Inc./ Tyco International where he was
responsible for the development of Earth Tech’s long-term homeland
security growth strategy and business development. He provided
advice and counsel on government affairs and public relations for
Earth Tech and assisted the Tyco International public affairs office
with issues related to homeland security.
In 2003 and
2004, Mr. Bourne served as Acting Director of the Department of
Homeland Security’s National Incident Management System Integration
Center and Deputy Director of FEMA’s Preparedness Division. He was
responsible for the implementation of the system across the nation
at all levels of government. He also conducted outreach to federal,
state and local responders and governments and managed and directed
the Preparedness Division’s major program components.
Mr. Bourne
also worked as Executive Officer at the U.S. Fire Administration,
where he developed long and short-term strategies for external and
internal coordination and communications methods related to fire
services programs.
Earlier in his
career he was Press Secretary for the Pennsylvania Emergency
Management Agency and Executive Director and Founder of the
Pennsylvania Fire Services Institute. |
