A native Louisianan, born in Baton Rouge
and raised in Alexandria, LA, David moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2000
to pursue a degree in Computer Engineering at UNLV. While attending the
university he worked as research assistance for the Transportation
Research Center performing GIS and IT projects in conjunction with Clark
County.
In 2003 he was hired as an Engineering Technician whose primary duties
involved linking GIS with traffic engineering and maintaining GIS data
for the Public Works department.
He accepted a position as the lead GIS technician for Stanley
Consultants Las Vegas office in 2005. He also preformed IT related
duties for an office of 80 for 3 months.
He then moved to Fort Worth, TX in 2006 to become the lead GIS/IT
technician for the Office of Emergency Management. His primary duty is
to shorten the gab between emergency management and GIS with projects
such as the Special Needs Assistance Program, hazard analysis modeling,
Emergency Operations Center enhancement, along with converting and
adding emergency management data into GIS.
