Calvin Brown

Calvin Brown is an Emergency Management Officer with the City of Fort Worth, Texas. He is a career firefighter from New Orleans, Louisiana. As a firefighter he received an associate degree in Fire Technology at Delgado Community College in 2001 and in 2004, he became an adjunct instructor at Delgado Community College where he taught Weapons of Mass Destruction, Hazardous Materials, and Firefighting Techniques.

The day after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, Calvin was assigned to the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Deputy Director. In that capacity he was tasked with assisting in restoring one of worlds most exciting and beautiful cities. His family never moved back to New Orleans after Katrina, so Calvin retired and moved to Texas to join them. After realizing retirement is not for everyone, he joined the Fort Worth Office of Emergency Management.

Calvin was born and raised in New Orleans and is the father of four. He served in the Navy for two years and is a graduate of Southern University. He holds several certifications including; FEMA 100, 200, 700, and 800; Hazardous Material Instructor; Instructor II, Inspector I; Inspector, Weapons of Mass Destruction and a Ham Operators License
